Promoting the health and well-being of LGBTI
The Rainbow tick accreditation program is a voluntary program that aims to assist health care providers in becoming LGBTI inclusive. This accreditation promotes your health services as an organisation that is responsive, aware and understanding of LGBTI needs.
The Rainbow tick is a world first and was developed and owned Rainbow Health Victoria (formerly GLHV) in consultation with Quality Innovation Performance (QIP).
Achieving the Rainbow Tick Standard helps your health practice to understand and respond to the needs of the LGBTI community.
LGBTI health consumers know that a Rainbow Tick accredited practice is where they can access services and their sexual orientation or gender identity and/or intersex status will be valued and their needs will be understood.
The six standards of an LGBTI inclusive practice
The Rainbow Tick is expressed by six key standards that demonstrate your business is committed to LGBTI inclusive practice and service delivery. These steps include:

Achieving the Rainbow Tick accreditation
If you are interested in achieving the Rainbow Tick accreditation, HMED offers a preliminary audit and advisory service used to determine if your existing protocols meet the Rainbow Tick guidelines.
From this initial service, suggestions and the implementation of LGBTI inclusive practices in your operations will enable you to attain the Rainbow Tick accreditation.
