
NSQHS Specialist
Cory is passionate about true social inclusion. Having spent the last ten years working in both acute and non-acute mental health services, Cory has gained firsthand experience of the full-service journey and brings experience in service management and casework.
Cory has developed expertise as a trainer in the mental health sector with a particular focus on providing vital insight into how quality mental health services function and the importance of recognising the citizenship and agency of people with a mental health issue through their recovery journey.
Cory brings experience in business development and small business operations and growth. Added to his skills in business management is the ability to craft businesses and services. Cory has an interest in the design, implementation, monitoring and review of service-specific models of care for acute, sub-acute and community mental health services.
He also has a focus on the value of lived experience, the engagement of clients and carers in services, and the use and honouring of peer support through positive consumer engagement, co-design, and carer inclusive practice. Cory is able to provide or advise on training and support for consumer and carer representatives.
Cory has been involved with quality management systems since creating his first ISO 9001 accredited system in 1995. He has continued in various quality roles in the mental health sector and is currently qualified as an accreditation reviewer against five national sets of standards.
Mental Health is his passion and Cory specialises in the National Standards for Mental Health Services (NSMHS), National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Rainbow Tick (RT).
Cory comes to HMED Consult with over 50+ assessments and additionally, he works as a lead trainer for a metropolitan Hospital Health Service specialising in the Health’s Mental Health Work Force Development Team.
